Creating Hope and Healing at the Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopment Center at CHOC

On January 8, our founder, Danqing Shen, took an impactful step by delivering art directly to the Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopment Center at CHOC. This center is a key support hub for families dealing with neurodevelopmental conditions in Orange County. Danqing was warmly welcomed as she presented 41 unique pieces of art.

This donation includes artwork in various mediums, such as drawing, watercolor, and oil painting. The goal is to fill the center with color and creativity, aiming to inspire hope and enhance emotional well-being for the children who receive care there. The artwork serves not merely as decoration but as a source of inspiration and a tool for creativity among young patients.

A Warm Welcome and Inspiring Initiatives

During her visit, the center's executive director showcased the well-equipped facilities and shared the multiple programs offered to children with autism and other neurodevelopmental challenges.

Art as a Medium of Healing

At our studio, we believe in the vital link between art and therapy. Art uniquely expresses feelings in ways words cannot. The colorful displays throughout the center—featuring various textures and hues—create a welcoming atmosphere.

Our hope is that these artistic pieces provide joy and comfort for the children during their therapeutic journeys. For instance, children who engage with art have shown increased emotional well-being and a greater ability to express themselves. Research indicates that art therapy can boost self-esteem in children by up to 40%. This effect highlights how creativity can enrich their overall experiences at the center.

Community Impact Through Art Education

We are driven to give back to the Orange County community, and donating to the Thompson Autism and Neurodevelopment Center is one way we achieve this. Our studio is dedicated to promoting healing and development through art education, which strengthens connections among children, families, and the community.
