The Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) is a distinguished public charter school in Santa Ana, California, renowned for its exceptional combination of academic rigor and intensive arts education. Founded in 1987, OCSA offers a broad array of conservatory programs spanning visual and performing arts, including music, dance, theater, visual arts, creative writing, and culinary arts.

OCSA Admission Process
Applicant Evaluation: Upon completing the Placement Activity, applicants will receive a scored rubric that includes detailed feedback and a proficiency level assessment from our conservatory staff. Only those who meet the required proficiency level will be eligible to participate in the lottery for that specific conservatory.
Lottery Process: Admission to each conservatory is determined through a public, random drawing (the "lottery"), conducted by conservatory, grade level, and, when applicable, concentration. The lottery is held in accordance with the admission preferences outlined in OCSA’s approved charter petition. Once all available spots are filled, additional applicants will be drawn and placed on a waitlist in the order selected.
